betsey johnson

Betsey Johnson Spring 2010. i don't know what it is...if it's the colors she uses, the shapes, the fabric, or the over-the-top way she puts it all together...but this lady knows how to make clothes. i've always felt that walking into her store is like walking into a makeup box. you're suddenly surrounded by different colors and textures and you don't know what to gaze at/touch/try on first. it's all too much! it's overwhelming in the best sense of the word. her new collection is no less elaborate. bold colors and large hair pieces. oodles of ruffles and lots of layers. it's almost as if Betsey Johnson has somehow thrown together everything in my childhood dress-up trunk and made it adult. adult in a youthful way. adult in the way that you could wear any of these pieces and decide to be taken seriously...or laugh at yourself. i'd just end up laughing at myself. these articles of clothing are too fun to wear with a harsh look on your face. and a smile is the absolute perfect addition to this spring collection.

hi! i'm Lena, but you can call me Lulu. i love Frida Kahlo, feminism, art, reading, kitties, and drinking tea. i love the film Amelie and i think that the tiny traveling gnome has stolen my heart. i want to own a bookshop and live above it one day. i get quite passionate about things. i tend to think too much. i'm kind of a hermit.
