etsy: yokoo

i am in such a fall mood. i know i got a lot of my fall lust out a few posts back, but i am really craving sweater weather*. i'm a bit bummed though because i don't have nearly enough sweaters or cosy articles of clothing for when the days become really crisp and chilly. needless to say, i'm absolutely drooling over all of the lovely knits at Yokoo. my insatiable desire for all things snuggly is going into overdrive, and if i don't start knitting something soon i think i just might buy out the whole store!

*i've just been reminded of one of my favorite comics. it's called Sweaterweather and is one of the cutest things i have ever seen. i'll have to re-read it now!

knit kitty giveaway

this giveaway is extra special.
my mother has been very supportive of my blog and always likes reading it. when she saw that i did a giveaway she wanted to contribute something towards the next one i had. so, she made one of her little kitties! my mother knits these all the time (she's been on a bit of a cat knitting high lately) and they all come out looking adorable and unique with their own kitty personalities. this kitty is stuffed with 100% wool and the yarn is a wool and angora blend.
thank you so much, Mum! i know you're reading this! ;]

guerilla knitting

i love guerilla art. all over Portland there is guerilla art. just another reason i'm absolutely in love with this city. one of these days, when i finally finish Lou's x-mas present...heh, i'm definitely going to start knitting (or crocheting) up some pole warmers and chain link fence fillers!

townshend's teahouse

it was rainy today. i don't mind, that's one of the reasons i love Portland. plus, i had my silver Doc Martens on so the puddles weren't at all an obstacle.

it's on these rainy days that i love going into tea shops. tea is the cure-all for any kind of weather blues. or any kind of blues for that matter. i'm not saying it will snap you out of a deep depression, but drinking tea is the one thing i know will cheer me up. even if it's just a little bit. so, naturally, i'm a sucker for tea houses. living down the street from one gives a girl meaning to her life. and Townshend's Teahouse is a godsend. it really is. the art they have in there is amazing. there are people knitting and studying, furiously debating, and canoodling on the couches. sometimes i go in there and knit or read...but people watching is almost the most enjoyable thing to do there. besides sipping on a nice, fresh cup of tea. of course.

My photo
Portland, OR, United States
hi! i'm Lena, but you can call me Lulu. i love Frida Kahlo, feminism, art, reading, kitties, and drinking tea. i love the film Amelie and i think that the tiny traveling gnome has stolen my heart. i want to own a bookshop and live above it one day. i get quite passionate about things. i tend to think too much. i'm kind of a hermit.
